At first, there was the job vehicle, and it was great, but... Afterwards, after glass and trim installation... Wheels and tires are bought...
...it lacked glass, rubber, an inside, plus a drive-train. ...it's starting to seem like an actual vehicle! ...but the last graphics are yet to be studied. 14\" Watanabes are showcased.
A go of the side mirror. Seems excellent, works much better having a convex lense!
Motor
I chose to set up an S14 KA24DE into my automobile. I selected this motor for this is Nissanness, its electricity (155hp/160ft./lb. stock), and fitment in the 510. It sits lower than the L-series, and also a tad farther rearward. The motor is comparatively bulletproof and components can be sourced from the local Nissan dealer.
"Why, it is the stock engine, policeman."
I had the expertise at hand to truly have a chance at making motor mounts and an oil pan, both crucial within the setup of the front-sumped KA into the 510 chassis.
This setup also essential fabrication of...

Tons of room within the engine bay for the motor as installed; no exhaust manifold problems, which is fairly low (about 1-1/2$1 below some swaps I have seen). The oil pan turned out amazing, with six quarts of capacity within the sump.
New Developments: I can not leave wellenough only. Individual throttle bodies have been adapted by me to my KA. You can also read about this transformation within The Dime, Quarterly. I am also in the complete process of building my very own headers.
Variant 1 is manufactured from Program-40 tube and is equivalent-span all the way to the V-Band flange:
Swapping a nonstock motor into 510 removes some simple poweradding options... The midpipe and back area are 2.5\" mandrel tube, resulting in a Magnaflow stainless muffler...

With some mandrel tube, an exhaust flange, plus a welder, simply make your own. Program-40 thickwall tube here. ... V-band clamps secure the midpipe in the end-of the header to only prior to the rear crossmember; they are uncomplicated to tighten and leakproof.
I got the header-building bug in the initial header. Stainless does not want a coating to withstand corrosion, however heat variance betwee this header...
Mix that with a deal on tube, and it was a job I was not able to resist. ...a V-band clamp to match up with the present mid-conduit. ...and Model 1 is quite noticable. Picture prior to the stainless has begun to bronze.

I have taken to updating the stock inside while I am at it. The dashboard, headliner, and many interior surfaces are covered in Alcantara. You too can see the poorman's dynamat remedy at Home Depot.
An Autopower rollbar and uSDM MY02 Subaru WRX seats are installed. Alcantara is really a material, most frequently found in upscale German automobiles. $9 a roll, and one-roll did that a lot of the inside. In your roofing section.
Drivetrain and Suspension
The suspension on this particular vehicle was when I first got it setup to get a stock 510. Some important features have been added by me for this combination.
Among my most significant selections lay within the wheel choice. With the electricity, I added brakes. Large brakes... 200SX solid rotors within the rear.
I got the cover polished because I could and it did not cost anything to me (freebee). Panasports are everywhere, but I adore the appearance. Japan Watanabe wheel is interval-right for the 510, and looks amazing. Custom brackets support hybrid Z31/S15 calipers.
Front suspension changed up to... Rear suspension changed up to...
