GMC Acadia is a sports crossover which has been presented by American motor company General Motors in 2007. The first copies of this model have appeared on sale in December, 2006 at dealers in the USA, and in January, 2007 - in Canada. Three minivans were its predecessors, they are: GMC Safari, GMC Envoy XL/XUV and Pontiac Montana SV6. Today the main competitors of GMC Acadia are Lexus RX and Acura MDX.
Crossover GMC Acadia is based on platform GM Lambda with long wheel base which makes 3020 mm. Such platform is used also in Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave. The platform allows to lower the center of gravity of a car that causes stability at movement on a line and in turns.
The length of a crossover makes 5108 mm, width – 2004 mm, and height – 1849 mm. What about its appearance appearance it is nice enough and even has some remote similarities to such off-road cars, as BMW X5 and VW Touareg. Smooth lines of a body and sports design give GMC Acadia contemporary dynamical shape.

Economic engine High Feature LY7 V6 from the company of General Motors in volume of 3.6 liters is established under cowl of GMC Acadia which also can be met in Cadillac CTS model. Capacity of this power unit makes 267 HP forces. The Engine works together with a 6-step automatic transmission 6T75. The car is issued both with a forward drive, and in all-wheel drive variants.

Model GMC Acadia has fine road performance. It is promoted by the first applied electronic system of stabilization of movement StabiliTrak. And the intellectual all-wheel drive system provides the increased draft on slippery roads without intervention of the driver. The front axle has design of McPherson, and the rear axle has been executed under the new project «Н» which has allowed to make it more compact and more mobile. The wheel amplifier goes in a standard complete set, but the system of changeable effort is offered by manufacturer as an option. Also in a standard complete set the car it is equipped with 18-inch wheels and disk brakes with antiblocking system ABS on all wheels. As an option 19-inch wheels can be established.

Highly strong design of exterior makes a sports crossover safe enough. Six pillows of sfety are established in car iterrior: two with doublestage operation system are located at driver and passenger, two more are built in backs of forward seats, and remained two in headrests of back seats. Similarly to Volvo XC9, model Acadia is equipped by system which is responsible for operation of pillows of safety in case of car overturning.

Interior GMC Acadia can be configured for seven or eight passengers. When second and the third row of seats are folded - the volume almost by 558 litres for various cargoes is released. Standard equipment includes threezoned climate control, parktronics, system of remote start of the engine, DVD, navigation system and excelent stereo system by Bose.
