Audi has moved the R8 production to another site
The supercar R8 was launched at the main factory of the auto manufacturer in Neckarsulm, Germany. But, recently, the carmaker has made decision to move the R8 production to another plant, which is located near the main factory.
That new plant is the big logistics center, which is named Audi Böllinger Höfe. Currently, it means, the supercar R8 is launched at the one place but not accommodated at different places.
The Audi’s engineers say that these new facilities are able to offer better efficiency and improved production process owing to using ergonomic innovations and modern technologies.
Moreover, that step allows breaking bulk of the Neckarsulm factory. Presently, that plant is launching six Audi models as the same time.
The Audi Böllinger Höfe site is located on 23 hectares that is about a quarter of the Neckarsulm plant.
According to the carmaker, the upcoming year, there, in the logistic center there will be the second generation of the R8 built. Audi is planning to conduct tests of a prototype of the next generation in a year.
The latest R8 is planned to be come on sale by 2016 as a car of 2017 model year.
