BMW plans to launch a new X2
The BMW brand plans to launch a new X2 model, which is built on the X1 coupe
We hope you remember that the BMW manufacturer is ready to introduce its new X4, which will add the lineup of crossovers including the new X6.
Today we are happy to share you with news about one more crossover coupe, which will be based on the X2 crossover.
Soon BMW plans to launch its updated X1 and later, probably not earlier than in 2017, the auto manufacturer will introduce the X2 crossover coupe that is built on the newest X1 in its turn.
Both novelties are based on the UKL platform developed by the BMW brand and includes the front-wheel drive. As you have already known this platform was used in the BMW Active Tourer of 2-series and the latest Mini Cooper that was presented at the end of last year as a car of 2014 model year.
This platform UKL is offered with three and four-cylinder engines mounted in transverse positions. Powertrains are both diesel and gasoline. The model are available with front-wheel and all-wheel drives as well.
The carmaker said both X1 and X2 models are assembled in the BMW plant in Brazil, and oriented to the U.S. market.
