Cadillac’s Next-Gen V-6 Engines: The Fun One Has Two Turbos and 400 Horsepower
Cadillac is about the march to eventually become the world class high-end brand of your dreams. Additionally, General Motors has refurbished its Michigan, Romulus, engine plant to the tune of $540 million, empowering that facility to assemble the two all- .
The two new V6 engines will appear in the 2016 CT6 flagship sedan of Cadillac, but the engines may also make their way to the CTS as well as the ATS.

Muscaro goes on to call the twin turbo, "the auto industry's most sophisticated V6," based on the very first-ever mix of turbocharging, direct injection, vehicle stop-start, and cylinder deactivation.
Dave Leone, the executive chief engineer of Cadillac, is quick to indicate that these two new V6s aren't the death knell for V8s. While the wreath dropped encircling its crest as the classic V insignia as well as early gear has not been seen for ages, strong V8s will live on in V series and Vsport versions where they are crucial for stature, operation, and refinement. 2016 Cadillac CT6 3.6-liter V6
The 3.6-liter engine generates 335 hp at 6800 rpm and 284 lb-feet of torque at 5300 rpm on standard fuel. It's an 11.5:1 compression ratio to produce a higher specific output signal than similar Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz sixes. Compared to GM's current Gen 3 V-6, there is a 9-percent increase in fuel efficiency plus 14 more hp and an additional 9 lb-feet of torque. Assistant chief engineer Ameer Haider reports model brake-specific fuel consumption (BSFC, or hp per increment of gas used) and 5 decibels less sound than Audi's 3.0-liter TFSI V-6.
Having a bore of 86 millimeters, it follows world practice that is popular, joining 500 cc-per-cylinder displacement, improved direct fuel injection, and aspiration. While BSFC is about 8-percent more compared to LGX, in accordance with GM it's still a lot better than direct competitors. Airflow roar is quelled by resonators involving the turbos and intercoolers.
