Cadillac will show its new CT6
Cadillac has planned the official debut of the new large sedan CT6 on the auto show in New York this April. The novelty is expected to come on sale by the end of the year as a car of 2016 model year as well. In addition, the carmaker has added to produce a plug-in hybrid version of that novelty.
According to the carmaker, the novelty is built of the multi-materials, which have allowed reducing the vehicle’s weight to compare with the CTS model that weighs 3,615 pounds.
The new CT6 will be assembled at the General Motor’s plant in Michigan. Just recently, the carmaker has spent about 300 million dollars to update that plant to produce the new CT6 and other models e quipped with similar technologies.
The Cadillac engineering team said they were using lightweight technologies and advanced equipment.
The new CT6 is based on the Omega platform developed by the General Motors. That platform includes the rear-wheel-drive.
The novelty is equipped with the V6 and V8 engine. The all-wheel-drive is offered as an optional feature.
As we said before, the new Cadillac CT6 will be also available in a plug-in hybrid variant.
