FCA follows GM, drops 100,000-mile powertrain warranty

Taking inspiration from Gm, Fiat Chrysler Cars has made a decision to drop its 100,000-mile power-train guarantee.
The organization is changing from a five-year/100,000-mile application to a five-year/60,000 mile guarantee, powerful for 2016-model year Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles."Subsequent adjustments previously produced by opponents, FCA US is fixing powertrain guarantee protection for 2016 model-year automobiles to be more in line with with business practices," the firm said in a statement printed by Automotive News.The afflicted manufacturers will keep their three-year/36,000-mile bumper to bumper guarantee, while Fiat automobiles stay unchanged with protection for four-years or 50,000 miles. Gm earlier this year killed its own 100,000-mile, five-year guarantee for the Chevy and GMC manufacturers, decreasing protection to 60,000 miles for the 2016 model-year.
