FCA workers at 2 large UAW locals reject contract

THE MOTOR CITY -- Workers at 2 of the largest union locals representing Fiat-Chrysler employees have voted against a tentative contract deal together with the UAW, further dimming prospects for acceptance.
UAW Local 7, made up of of workers at Detroit's Jefferson North Assembly Plant, voted contrary to the four-year deal, the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News reported on Sunday. Sixty-six % of manufacturing employees in the plant, which makes the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee, voted from the treaty, while 7 7% of Skilled trades employees declined it.
About 4,400 hourly workers are used at the plant, or mo Re than one-tenth of the 40,000 or so employees represented under the deal. The neighborhood couldn't be reached for comment.
Bulks also rejected the offer on Friday at Nearby 685 in Kokomo, Indiana, which signifies about 6,000 employees, according to the Free Press.
Most voting members should approve the treaty in order for it to take effect.
Additionally, a 2,000-member UAW neighborhood for a stamping plant in Sterling Heights, Mich., declined the agreement on Thursday, according to postings on Fb, and 80-percent of manufacturing employees at a 1,300-member union neighborhood for a Trenton, Mich., motor plant declined the proposed offer, the neighborhood web site said.
