Ford at it again as Continental grabs spotlight

NY -- Ford Motor Co. appears to have its formulation for making auto-show buzz down pat. Let a significant rival talk about an approaching significant new car for months, even years, then swoop in having a shock just as that competition is eventually unveiling that car. Ford snitched Acura's boom in the Detroit auto-show in January, rolling out its own super-car, the GT, hrs forward of the long-awaited NSX. It took some wind from the Chevrolet Silverado's sails two years past using the Atlas theory because of its aluminium-bodied F150. Now, Ford has stepped on more of Gm' toes: It declared the return of the Continental.com to Lincoln's line-up the exact same week that Cadillac revealed its flagship sedan, the CT6. Lincoln's news conference in the Ny auto show the other day was planned for many hours before Cadillac's on Wednesday, the display first media day. So Cadillac chose to unveil the CT6 on Tuesday rather. Lincoln, to not be out-maneuvered, dropped the the headlines of its own Continental Notion on Monday. Lincoln had an entire day-to gather compliments by it self, while everybody else present vehicles waited under wraps. "There is no other solution to to say this: the Continental looks spectacular," wrote Autoblog. "It is totally magnificent," gushed CarBuzz. "Lincoln swagger is again," an Automotive Information reader wrote. The return of the Continental title additionally gave automobile enthusiast sites the opportunity to post pictures from Lincoln's glory times, supporting Ford in its attempt to remind everybody how great it used to be (and, Ford expects, eventually could be again). As the Continental is still in the idea stage, it's not going to reach the market until next year. That has not prevented consumers from already beginning to declare the first positions in line, Ford executives stated. "I have gotten several e-mails from our sellers stating clients have really phoned them and mentioned, 'When this matter comes out, I need one,'" Ford CEO Fields stated. "Therefore I believe that bodes properly."
