Ford invests 240 million euros to clean diesel engines production
According to the official resource, the Ford Motor has decided to invest about 240 million euros in a plant where to produce clean diesel powertrain in the U.K.
That is the second stage of investment. The auto manufacturer plans to launch 2.0-liter diesel engines for passenger cars. The annual capacity of the plant is expected to be about 350,000 cleaner engines as well. The automaker is going to start clean diesel engine launching by 2017.
Those new engines with the low CO2 emissions; they are developed by the technical center of Ford in England.
That investment will be spent during five years for launching clean diesel engines and other technologies, which will be able to reduce the carbon emissions.
In addition, the government of UK is ready to invest 8.9 million pounds on the Dagenham project.
Meanwhile, besides diesel engines, Ford is also producing the gasoline units in Wales. The total engines launching capacity of both factories was about 1.5 million units last year.
