Ford worker in Ohio charged with stealing tire sensors, selling them on eBay, report says

A Cleveland-location automobile worker was indicted for allegedly stealing hundreds of tire detectors at a Ford plant and attempting to sell them on e-bay, creating a short disruption in vehicle creation, in accordance with a local media report.
Based on a study on the web site of Newsnet 5, an ABC affiliate Television station in Cleveland, Joseph Jankulovich, 4-8, of Sheffield, Ohio, faces felony larceny and receiving stolen property charges associated with his alleged theft of Ford OEMS tire detectors from Ford's Avon Lake assembly plant.
An Avon Lake police detective informed it station that, according to records, he believed about 5,000 detectors were offered, while "Ford estimates these were were lacking around 8,000."
The detective stated the components price car dealers up to $100 but were supposedly sold all around the globe on ebay.com by the defendant, who charged clients in the $10 to $20 array. He added the car parts "were sold worldwide," including to Germany, and "it was an excellent worth to purchase this in the cost he was promoting them," Newsnet 5 noted.
The station mentioned that at one-point a great number of detectors were missing in the factory Ford was compelled to stop production briefly. "That is essentially what got the focus of [Ford] phoning me," the police detective informed Newsnet 5. "They had them flown from Mi to get the line going again."
A Ford spokeswoman declined to comment as the issue remains the issue of an on-going investigation.
It wasn't clear if other plant employees were under investigation.
The report stated that over an interval of time authorities made several buys of the tire detectors, tracing them back to the car plant and to Jankulovich.
Authorities said Ford believed the worth of the things stolen at more than $500,000, according to the Television station.
The Avon Lake plant, which opened in 1974, now makes Eseries strip chassis and F-650/750 moderate-duty trucks.
