Jaguar considering entry-level hatchback

Jaguar has disclosed it is contemplating introducing an entry level hatchback directed right at the Mercedes Benz A Class, the BMW 1-Series as well as the Audi A3.
"Often there is room to go smaller - the planet is changing rapidly," stated Jaguar design director Ian Callum on the side-lines of the New York Motor Show.Callum clarified that Jaguar continues to be a comparatively small business so it's now focusing on increasing its line to the best with vehicles such as the 3-Series-battling XE, the recently-released 2nd-gen XF along with the forthcoming F-Tempo cross over. The organization begins to seriously contemplate developing a little auto once all of these versions have landed in showrooms. If constructed, the Jumping Cat's entry level hatchback will probably follow the path blazed by its chief competitors and ride-on a front-wheel-drive system. Purists will howl, but Callum considers that today's technology technologies can block out out the short-comings commonly related to fwd. Jaguar now does not have a front-wheel-drive stage on which it can construct a little hatchback, so the chassis must be be both constructed from scratch or borrowed from another auto-maker. Interestingly, Nick Rogers, Jaguar-Land Rover's world-wide engineering manager, suggested the little car may be offered using a gas-sipping hybrid drivetrain. If it it gets the green-light for creation, Jaguar's however-unnamed little hatchback are at least 3 or 4 years away. Its primary marketplace will be Europe and it may not be marketed in America, where the premium compact hatchback section continues to be steadily decreasing over recent years. Read Source
