Mercedes global sales rise 16% in March to monthly record

BERLIN (Reuters) -- Sales at Mercedes Benz increased 16% in March to 183,467, the greatest-ever amount recorded for any month in the auto maker history. The double digit increase was driven by sturdy need in Europe, China as well as the United States and powerful sales of the c-class, as well as Mercedes' compacts and sport utility vehicles.
European sales increased 16% to 89,041 last month, while China deliveries grew 2 1% to 30,124, Daimler said in a statement nowadays. Deliveries in the USA were up 9.2% to 29,921.
