Mercedes has announced the recalling some models of new SL-class. This recall includes SL65 AMG, SL63 AMG and SL550, which were produced during the period of from January to April this year.
The reason of this recall is a defect in a sensor that is responsible for a side airbag of a passenger.
The carmaker’s representative said that the recalling vehicles have the OCS system –the system of the occupant classification, which detects a passenger whose is sitting.
Unfortunately, this system may not find if there is a passenger or not in a case a person will be too light and will deactivate the side airbag.
The auto manufacturer has begun notifying owners of the affected vehicles. The owners have to bring their cars into the brand’s service center and this defect will be removed free of charge.
