Michael Mann set to direct second Enzo Ferrari biopic

Top movie director Michael Mann would be to start shooting an Enzo Ferrari biopic in 2016 - the 2nd film-set for launch in regards to the infamous Italian automobile magnate and racing group manager.
Hot on the heels of strategies for Robert De Niro to perform Enzo in another endeavor, Variety has shown that Mann's long-planned movie is finally going to get into in to manufacturing.
The New Yorker had noted in January the movie was planned: "In the fifties," it quoted Ferrari fanatic Mann as declaring, "[Enzo] would roast chickens in the barn where they held the wood dollars which they overcome the aluminum body panels, and hear on the air to his group racing - in days past the mortality for racers was as much as fifty % a year."
Mann shot to popularity as the executive producer of the Miami Vice tv-series, subsequently repeated his achievement on the big-screen with Last of the Mohicans in the early 90's, which he followed-up with hits Heat and The Insider.
Variety reports that Mann will direct the Ferrari movie, centered on Brock Yates' 1991 novel 'Enzo Ferrari: The The Person, the Automobiles, the Races' with Italian manufacturing home Cecchi Gori Media.
In addition, it says a preceding attempt to start the movie with Al Pacino playing the lead character and directed by Sidney Pollack faltered in 2004.
