New Smart Fourjoy ForFour
1889
At the Frankfurt Motor show, the Smart brand presents the concept of a new model Fourjoy. This car is the third generation of ForTwo models. As we could notice, this concept will be used for both future ForTwo and ForFour models.
Now both models are in the development process and the public will see them not earlier than in 2014.
The concept has many details of the previous models. For example, there are square-shaped lights, a small minimalist body and the lightweight construction. Meanwhile, four seats say that the model will have four doors and it is expected to be the ForFour car.
The length of a concept car is 11.4 feet; the width is 6.5 feet and the height – 4.9 feet. The car gets LED headlights and taillights.
The Fourjoy is based on a flexible platform that was developed jointly Smart and Renault.
The car will have the electric motor producing 74 horsepower, which drives rear wheels. A lithium-ion battery of 17.6-kilowatt-hour powers the electric motor for about 7 hours.
There is the production of ForTwo models at the French plant in Hambach, while ForFour cars will be launched in Slovenia – at the plant of Renault.
