New crossover from Citroen for the Asian auto market
The Citroen brand announced about its plans to launch a new SUV that will be oriented to specially the Asian markets. The crossover is based on the Wild Rubis concept car. According to official information, the production will be started in over a year.
The Wild Rubis concept was presented at the show in China this April. The auto manufacturer plans to sell a crossover in the Asian countries but not come on the European market.
The carmaker has attended to a SUV, built for China is not so radical car that the previous concept was –the novelty does not get 21-inch wheels.
As it is known, the concept SUV has the length of 4700 mm, the width of 1950 mm and its height is 1590 mm. Rubis is alike the Volkswagen Touareg in size.
Besides, Citroen brings its compact crossover C4 Aircross and the C-Crosser in the European countries; both vehicles are based on similar Mitsubishi models.
The auto manufacturer plans to produce the crossover in Shenzhen, where they are going to build a new factory of launching as the joint venture of Citroen and PSA/Peugeot.
Citroen intentionally made decision to establish the new assembly line in China, thereby the carmaker plans to extend its influence on the Asian market, especially in China, increasing sales its cars beyond the bounds of Europe.
