Porsche reveals new 911 GT3 R racer

Porsche has shown a new 911 GT3-R customer race-car to compete in GT-3 occasions around the world.
The newest track automobile was adapted from its newest road-going counterpart, the 911 GT3 RS, having a wheelbase that's been stretched by over three inches when compared with the last generation. The revised geometry can be said to enhance weight distribution, bringing more predictable management in fast corners. Technologists have labored to reduce the center gravity and shed weight total, thanks to some mixture of aluminium, metal and composite components. The 'double-bubble' roof, front cover and fairing, wheel-arches, doorways, aspect and tail segments are made from carbon fiber, while the windows and windshield include polycarbonate. The engine is largely identical to the 4.0-liter flat six located in the GT-3 RS, making at least 500 hp and 339 lb-feet of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels by means of a consecutive six-speed paddle-shifted transmission. The firm has worked to increase the brake system to better manage long distance racing, raising rigidity and tweaking the ABS program. The 380mm slotted front disks are caught by six-piston aluminum calipers, while four-piston calipers latch onto 372mm disks connected to the back axle. Motorists will reap the benefits of a fresh security fuel cell, which now retains 120 liters of gas, while the roof escape hatch was enlarged. The newest racing bucket seats can also be believed to supply better protection in crashes. Porsche is currently taking orders for the 911 GT3-R, with costs beginning at 429,000 euros (~$490,000 2500). Read Source
