Powertrain for its new Boxster and Cayman

Recently the Porsche carmaker has confirmed the four-cylinder powertrain for its new Boxster and Cayman.
According to the brand’s representative, the two novelties are expecting to be equipped with the four-cylinder in-line engine soon.
Currently, the Boxster and Cayman have the classic brand’s six-cylinder opposite layout engine but soon as the carmaker has approved this powertrains will be replaced by the new four-cylinder one.
The auto manufacturer is working on development the new four-cylinder powertrain for both models. Moreover, according to the official brand’s representative said, the auto manufacturer also worked on reducing CO2 emissions as well.
What about the new powertrain; it will be the four-cylinder in-line engine, which in the turbocharged version will produce the power of about 400 horsepower.
As we have said before, nowadays both cars are equipped with the 3.4-liter six-cylinder aspirated engine, which is able to produce the power –the Boxster’s one is 325 horsepower and the Cayman’s one is 335 horsepower as well.
