Renault rules out U.S. return

Several weeks ago, an enigmatic brand filing uncovered by German media retailers apparently suggested Renault was in the initial phases of arranging a comeback to America and Canada after a nearly 25-year absence. Talking to Leftlane, the auto-maker h-AS flatly rejected the rumours.
"Time for the United States is just not something we are contemplating at this stage," stated a representative for the firm during the start of the Kadjar cross over. To put it differently, purchasers should not expect to see mass produced Renaults like the back-engined Twingo, the Juke-battling Captur and the popular Clio land on our shores anytime soon. Yet, time for the United States and Canada is not a a straightforward black and white problem. Interestingly, our neighbours up north will shortly have the ability to purchase a vehicle using a Renault symbol, but it's not going to just be a auto. The all electric Twizy (imagined) is planned to really go on sale in some of dealers across Quebec in another few months. Several examples will likely be sold to everyone, but the firm describes the EV will mainly be aimed at fleet and enterprise buyers. Renault will start the initial Alpine sportscar of the twenty-first century at next year's Geneva Motor Display. Its primary marketplace will be Europe, but the Paris-based auto-maker has not ruled out-selling the coupe in in the USA in order to help off-set the expense of building it. A final judgment on the issue is likely to be made nearer to the vehicle 's start. Photographs by Ronan Glon. Read Source
