A uncommon summer thunderstorm enabled fire fighters to comprise 60% of a wildfire that swept across a California interstate highway, torching vehicles and sending people running for their lives.
Light rain and damp atmosphere dampened the blaze in the mountainous Cajon Move 55 miles north-east of La, the principal artery between Southern-California and Vegas.
The wind-pushed fire began Friday day below the elevated lanes of Interstate 1-5. Shoved by 40 miles per hour winds, it rushed up a hill and onto the traffic-clogged highway, trapping hundreds of men and women amid a cauldron of smoke, flames and ashes.
