The Frankfurt Auto Show 2013 presents the Honda Civic wagon
The new Honda Civic Tourer will be a good competitor for the Toyota brand in production of compact wagons for the European car market.
Owing to the combination of its exterior and great interior space, the Civic Tourer will take its leader place among other compact wagons in Europe.
The Honda Company will present the new Civic model and the updated Civic hatchback at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month.
15 years ago, Honda sold its last wagon in Europe. At the same time, the Toyota Company also stopped producing wagons for the European market. Then in 2006, Toyota introduced its Auris Touring Sports equipped with a hybrid powertrain, which has been sold so far.
Honda plans to start selling of the Civic Tourer in the beginning of next year. The auto manufacturer expects 20 percent sales of Civic wagons in Europe.
The Honda Civic Tourer is the first car with a rear adaptive damper system, carrying out stability and comfort not depend on changing load and driving conditions.
The new model will be available new 1.6-liter diesel and 1.8-liter gasoline engines. The luggage compartment is 624 liters, but it may be expended to 1,668 liters due to the folded rear seats. The Civic wagon as a hatchback has the fuel tank, which is located under the front seats to increase space inside of a car.
Because of the almost sport-vehicle exterior, the Civic Tourer has no appearance of common wagons and that makes it be differ from other cars of the same class and more noticeable.
The new Honda wagon gets its sporty look due to an audacious line that is going from the front pillar to the rear pillar making a view of the floating roofline.
The rear window glass was broaden; the rear door was raised by 17 millimeters in comparison with the five-door Civic model to make a car more styling and elegant exterior of the new wagon.
The production of the new Honda car will be carried out at the English plant in Swindon, where currently the Civic hatchback, Jazz subcompact and CR-V crossover are been building.
The Civic is one of the main models line for Honda in Europe its sales are 25,079 cars units in the first half of 2011, then in 2012, the selling was up 20 percent for the same period. The Honda Civic is the second model according to sales and it is just a bit the CR-V model that was sold in 25,648 vehicles increased from 16,790 cars last year.
Wagons keep 25 percent of the selling of compact cars sales in Europe.
