The Volvo V60 hybrid has been tuned by Polestar
We guess you remember time when the word “hybrid” had association with anything green, economy and earth’s saving. However, the best supercar manufacturers approved that the hybrid was able to be associated with the car’s performance, too.
To approve that, the Polestar tuner has started updating of the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid then.
The Volvo’s V60 hybrid is equipped with the five-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine and the electric motor, which powers the back axle. This hybrid system has the output of 283 horsepower with the torque of 472 lb-ft. However, the Polestar plans to tune the car to improve its performance –the output will be boosted to 298 horsepower and the torque to 494 lb-ft.
The improved performance will make the V60 to be one of the fastest cars of Volvo, which equipped with a diesel powertrain. The tuner promises the car’s acceleration from 0 mph to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds. Meanwhile, according to some tests for hybrids were conducted in Europe, the fuel economy is 130 mpg.
Currently, the tuned V60 is available in the European auto market, in such countries as the U.K., Netherlands and Sweden.
In the future, beginning from the new XC90, we are expecting more models tuned by Polestar. The tuner offers the wide range of hybrid powertrains.
