The first pictures of the new Mercedes GLK-class
There was the first news about the future Mercedes GLK-class last year. Now we have gotten new photos of this novelty.
As we may notice, the auto manufacturer made decision to build the GLK-class a little bit bigger; the reason was simple –the brand was preparing to launch the new model of GLA-class.
This prototype gets the longer wheelbase than the present vehicle. The long wheelbase provides more spacious cabin and better dynamics. Owing to lengthening, the prototype will meet competition with Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
Pictures show that the novelty keeps some brand’s style but gets sportier look. For example, the roof of the future GLK-class has a slope to the rear.
The novelty will be equipped with the new technical features according to the new models of C-class, which come in the market in 2015.
Besides, the novelty of GLK-class will have the right-hand-drive that allows the Mercedes brand to sell the novelty in the particular auto markets such as Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom.
The auto manufacturer plans to put a 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine to the GLK 250 while the new GLK 350 is expected to get a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine and the V6 powertrain. In addition, according to the official statements, the carmaker is working on development all-wheel-drive version of the novelty.
