The latest 2-series of BMW in a convertible version
BMW presented its new 2-series in a coupe variant a few month ago and this model was liked by many potential customers all over the world; especially its M 235i version. Later, the carmaker introduced the Active Tourer and the new M2. And finally, now the auto manufacturer is preparing to show its cabrio of the 2-series.
The convertible 2-series will replace the cabrio of 1-series. The novelty cabrio looks quite similar to the 2-series coupe version –only its soft-top folding into the trunk.
The new version will be offered with two types of powertrains depending on models. The basic 228i version will be equipped with the turbo engine produces the output of 240 horsepower while the M 235i gets a more powerful six-cylinder unit issuing the power of 322 horsepower as well.
The updated features of the exterior include new wheels and tires, upgraded brakes and more aggressive bumpers.
The 2-series convertible is available with the six-speed manual gearbox as standard; meanwhile, the eight-speed automatic transmission will be also offered as an optional feature.
What about the drive –the rear-wheel is standard while the all-wheel with xDrive system is offered as well.
The auto manufacturer plans the official debut of this novelty this year but selling will start not earlier than next.
