The new BMW 3-series Sports Wagon
We are continuing to share with you latest news of the updated BMW 3-series. That time we are talking about the Sports wagon. The model gets some updates in the middle cycle and it is expected to come on the market by the end of next year as a car of 2016 model year.
Because of the main updating is in the middle cycle there are not so significant changes. The updated model will get renewed bumpers and lights. Most likely, inside, there will be changes only in the infotainment system.
As we have already told you before, the BMW carmaker plans to equip its 3-series with new four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines. Versions with both powertrains are built on the three-cylinder variant B38. Meanwhile, some powertrains will be turbocharged.
The new 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit is used in the newest Mini Copper and the 2-series Active Tourer. The 3.30-liter six-cylinder is mounted in other models of the updated 3-series of 2016 model year.
Moreover, the automaker is also planning to launch a plug-in hybrid model. The hybrid version will be equipped with the four-cylinder engine and the electric motor; together they will be able to produce the output of 245 horsepower and the torque of 295 lb-ft. Also, there is some information about even a diesel version of the Sport wagon.
The novelty will be available with the six-speed manual and the eight-speed automatic gearboxes. The all-wheel-drive xDrive system is standard.
