The new convertible from MINI Cooper
The carmaker is introducing the convertible version of the popular Cooper. Sales are planned to start next March because the Cooper cabrio is a car of 2015 model year.
You should not expect any noticeable changings on this novelty. Most of exterior details and interior features including technical characteristics will remain. However, the main difference is the soft top, which is the important addition.
This Cooper is also built on the UKL platform as the latest Clubman that is why the wheelbase will be longer than the current models have.
Meanwhile, the auto manufacturer promises to set some new infotainment features.
In addition, the novelty will be offered with the reserved camera, the head-up display, new assist systems such as the parking assist, collision and pedestrian warnings and even speed-limited system.
The new Cooper convertible will be available in two versions: the basic and the S trim. The basic Cooper cabrio has the 1.5-liter engine with three cylinders producing about 134 horsepower and the torque of 162 lb-ft. The S version includes the 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit issuing the output of 189 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque. Both version will get the standard six-speed manual gearbox, although customers may choose the six-speed automatic transmission at will.
