VW's run ends with 81 drop Audi's hot streak continues

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- Audi America posted its best August ever, while Volkswagen of America was not able to keep up its quick growth spurt.
After publishing greater U.S. revenue in May, June and July, Volkswagen backtracked with an 8.1% decrease last month. But, the 32,332 autos VW offered in August signified its greatest monthly U.S. sales total of 2015.
The Golfing category of of compact vehicles continued to see robust desire. "We're supported by the continuing strength of the Golf family and assured that achievement will carry on," as VW rolls out a brand new infotainment system along with innovative security systems on its 2016 model year automobiles, Mark McNabb, Volkswagen of America's COO, stated in a statement.
The Golf and Tiguan increases were offset by the remainder of Volkswagen's car line, with an 18cq percentage fall for the Jetta compact sedan along with a 19 percent fall for the Passat mid-size sedan.
Through the initial eight months of 2015, VW sales were down 2.8% to 238,074 models.
Analysts had predicted August revenue drop at many auto makers as the Labor Day sales hurry was contained in August 2014 revenue, but the vacation drops in September this yr, skewing yr-on-year comparisons.
Audi, though, bucked the calendar quirk and rode a 4 1% leap in cross over quantity to August revenues of 18,794, a 9.9% increase and its 56th straight monthly U.S. revenue report, the firm said.

Through August, Audi's 2015 U.S. sales are up 12-percent to 130,063.
