VW CEO Next Bugatti to go hybrid
Vw's CEO has verified that Bugatti's following supercar will soon be offered using a hybrid drive-train.
There continues to be no lack of rumours including Bugatti's prepared follow-up to the Veyron supercar, but there is little in the manner of official specs from Bugatti parent VW. But, we now have our first touch of real news thanks to VW chairman Martin Winterkorn. In a current interview with Germany's Bild, Winterkorn verified that Bugatti's following version will provide a hybrid vehicle alternative. "There will be next to the petrol product for the very first time, a variation to enhance functionality using a hybrid push," he stated. Including a hybrid push to improve operation would follow similar moves by Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren.Winterkorn's opinions also appear to suggest the next Bugatti supercar will soon be around in two flavors - petrol and gasoline-electric. Meaning the next Bugatti could follow the exact same functionality pattern as the Veyron, launch first with a less strong drivetrain (in this particular scenario less strong could suggest A - 16-cylinder motor with electrical turbochargers and 1,500 hp) and then providing an uprated drive-train, like the one in the Veyron Supersport, afterwards in the automobile's life cycle. Winterkorn did not mention when we we may first lay eyes on Bugatti's Veyron followup, but it is possible possible-we could see a theory version of the super-car by year's end. In all probability Bugatti's following supercar will land for the 2018 model-year.
