Watch the Jaguar XF’s Record-Breaking High-Wire Car Stunt
Seemingly a world record broke.
Stunt driver Jim Dowdall, a veteran of Bond film franchises, Bourne, and the Indiana Jones, was at the wheel, and even though the Jag rode the carbon fiber cords on wheels that are especially grooved, we envision it was a white-knuckle ocean trip.
Additionally, we understand what you are thinking: That giant Jaguar counterweight seems like it's been Photoshopped. It is not--it is only painted to appear to be a reflective surface, which it isn't. It is absolutely there, as you are able to observe in the video of the stunt of Jaguar. Fast forward to 3:45 in the video under if you're need see the high wire only not interested in set up and you drive itself.
Jaguar says the effort was built to emphasize how the new XF that is lightweight is, having cut 132 pounds that are promised in the AWD version in the rear wheel drive version as well as a staggering 256 pounds, thanks to an aluminum-intensive design.
