2015 Chevrolet Trax AWD Reviews
Following the lead of the Encore, the Trax is Chevrolet's entry right into a fresh group of SUVs that are diminutive, one taken by the Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade, Mazda CX-3, as well as the Nissan Juke. However, the Trax is more interesting than its Buick double for 2 reasons. The Trax, using its flared fenders, does not look like a chrome-load potato. Chevy charges about $4000 less than Buick.
The Trax is tiny on the outside--it is less than one inch longer than an old air cooled Porsche 911--but unusually open inside. Big doors make getting in and out simple, as well as the solid construction and quiet manner of the Encore stay. Actually, the Trax proved to be somewhat more quiet at 70 miles per hour in relation to the last Encore we examined. Stuff and Chevy's interior appointments aren't quite as cheap - appearing but the cottage layout is modern and clean. One point that is low is the touch screen of the audio system. Lifted in the Chevy Sonic, the display is slow to react.
We had also enjoy a little more speed in the powertrain. Acceleration is tepid, turning completely chilly with freight and passengers on board. A lot. We went 23 miles, and did. At least its licks are taken by the small four without much protest that is audible.
And though it may not be fast, the 3296-pound Trax features a little-auto tossability that we find endearing. It is never awkward on the way, as well as the fast steering system cultivates dynamic feel and a deft. Body roll is nicely managed and safe, although lateral handle is lacking. We did find the nose dives enough to upset the stability of the Trax . A powerful leg must activate the ABS, but slam on the brakes with the benefit and authority is a close-sportscar-class 166-foot stop from 70 miles per hour.
Neither fast nor hot, the Chevy Trax is still just what it seems to be: space-efficient, a nice transport pod.
The Trax of Chevy is a no-flap machine. Refined and little, it's a fine entrance to the burgeoning infant-ute set. Our only advice to shoppers would be to prevent the LTZ trim amount that is top. Because there is nothing wrong here that an added 50 horses will not mend if that $2585 purchased an extra 50 hp, we had happily pay up.
