Andretti expands to four cars in new BHA partnership

Andretti Autosport will field four vehicles in this season 's IndyCar Series after forming a fresh partnership using the single-auto Bryan Herta Autosport group.
Having formerly just supported three fulltime entries for Ryan Hunter Reay, Marco Andretti and Carlos Munoz for 20-16, the Andretti squad will now also operate the No. 98 BHA entry out of its Indianapolis foundation this year.
Herta himself will stay involved as staff strategist and driver trainer for the No. 98 automobile, with the group crew being additionally being retained.
But, the statement made no reference to 2015 BHA motorist Gabby Chaves, whose IndyCar potential seems to have now been thrown in to severe question.
"Bryan is a longtime pal and that I used to be happy to observe him develop an effective Indy car group," said Michael Andretti. "Bringing Bryan and his crew to your family is an excellent chance for many parties to develop an even more powerful organization.
"Having Bryan's expertise is a welcome inclusion to the group. I am honored in order to carry-on what he began and enjoy a competitive season."
BHA's first IndyCar beginning arrived in the 2010 Indianapolis 500, and the staff secured its first triumph in the next year's race together with the late Dan Wheldon, before embarking on a full time effort in the year 2012.
2015 marked the group fourth full-season, Chaves finishing 15th in the standings as leading rookie with a best finish of ninth spot in the next Detroit race.
Herta, who raced for Andretti in IndyCar between 2003 and 2006, added: “I couldn”t be more thrilled relating to this new phase for Bryan Herta Autosport. Michael is a long time buddy, and we definitely understand that Andretti Autosport was a large part of my vocation.
"When the chance came together for us to reinforce our organization and unite with among the very most successful groups and names in the the game, it really was a nobrainer.
