Audi loses powertrain development chief
1432
Audi has apparently lost its power-train advancement chief, Stefan Knirsch.
The exec can be said to have stepped down after spending less than two years as the manager of power-train engineering, although his time at Audi dates back about 25 years, based on Auto Motor und Sport.Knirsch is credited with major improvement of Audi's newest power train inventions, including numerous etron hybrid vehicles and electrically-driven forced-induction, following the firm faced criticism for years of clear technological stagnation. The exec formerly spent time at Porsche, finally heading motor improvement, and served as the excellent leader. Audi apparently attempted to keep Knirsch, who left on his own accord. It's uncertain if he was poached by a competitor or left for other motives. The firm will presumably carry on its electrification drive without Knirsch, with impending coming of the A3 Sportback e tron to US showrooms. A fresh electrical crossover can also be rumored to be revealed next autumn in the Frankfurt Motor Show.Picture by Ronan Glon. Read Source
