Chevy vows to keep Bolt name, despite confusion

Gm has made a decision to stick together with the title 'Bolt' for its battery powered compact-car.
The firm in February challenged the branding, recognizing possible confusion using the present Volt plug in hybrid vehicle. No other names were openly proposed, but one executive advised it could have a year before a final judgment needed to be made. After running two studies with prospective customers, the automaker is currently assured the possible advantages outweigh the drawbacks."Since unveiling the Bolt EV 3 months past, the title has rapidly become connected with Chevy," GM spokesman Michael Albano told the Detroit Free Press. "We assessed with clients and sellers and affirmed our opinion the name is an excellent fit as well as the organization with Volt was viewed as a positive."Revealed early this year in Detroit, the Bolt functions to pre-empt Tesla Motors as well as other automakers intending to establish affordable EVs using an electric array around 200 miles. General Motors may be among the first to reveal a theory, but all firms seem to be waiting until battery costs fall far enough to make such versions feasible. The firm had expected battery startup Envia could provide its 'break-through' technologies to industry by 2016, yet the Silicon Valley firm's claims apparently turned out to be exaggerated. Despite the battery problems, General Motors guarantees the Bolt will ultimately be created, taking a price around $37,500. Tesla's Design 3 is likely to sell for about $35,000 when it arrives on the marketplace. Read Source
