Deadly car bombs hit 2 hotels in Baghdad

BAGHDAD -- Authorities in Iraq said Friday that vehicle bombs within the parking lots of two leading resorts had killed at least 15 individuals in the capital Baghdad, with dozens more wounded. Police officers said a car-bomb exploded in the parking-lot of Babil Resort late Thursday. About 1 minute after, another car bomb went off in the parking-lot of Cristal Resort, once Sheraton. First reports said 10 people were killed and 27 wounded, but the casualty figures grew overnight. Nobody claimed responsibility, but Iraq witnesses nearly daily assaults that have often been claimed by the Islamic State-Of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which captured big swaths of the united states in a blitz a year ago.
