Ferrari introduces a new California T in Geneva
The sports car manufacturer is preparing to present its turbocharged novelty, which will be officially presented at the show in Geneva in March.
We would like to remind that the first car, which was equipped with a turbocharged powertrain, was the F40 –the legend. The carmaker has made decision to come back to turbocharged vehicles and this year Ferrari stakes on not only efficiency but also performance.
The Ferrari California T is equipped with a 4.3-liter V8 twin turbocharged engine, which is able to produce the power of 552 horsepower with the torque of 556 lb-ft.
By the way, this powertrain is an upgraded engine of the Maserati Quattroporte, which was a 3.8-liter V8 unit. This updating gave 49 percent more the torque and 15 percent fuel economy.
The California’s engine allows the car acceleration from 0 mph to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds; the maximum speed is expected to be 195 mph.
The novelty gets new carbon ceramic brakes, dampers and springs as well. However, the auto manufacturer has not worked on reducing weight of a car; it is still over 3,500 pounds.
Besides, the novelty has updating both exterior and interior. However, we will be able to share more details after the official introduction in Geneva next month.
