First drive of the latest BMW 428i Gran coupe
The newest BMW 428i Gran coupe is the next model, which adds the BMW’s 2015 lineup.
The novelty is a liftback of the 3-series, but presented as the new model of the 4-series.
The novelty is equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder inline turbocharged TwinPower engine, which is able to produce the output of 240 horsepower and the torque of 255 lb-ft. In addition, the new 428i Gran coupe is available with the 3.0-liter six-cylinder inline turbocharged engine, which issues the output of 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of the torque. Owing to that powertrain, the car is able to accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.
In spite of powertrains, the new 4-series Gran coupe is equipped with the eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
Moreover, it is necessary to say, the fuel consumption of the 2.0-liter engine is 23/34 mpg in a city and on highways. The more powerful version has the fuel consumption - 22 mpg in a city, 32 on highways and 25 mpg in a combined mode.
The new coupe has enough space for rear-sitting passengers and at the same time, the back row of eats may be folded to make more space for luggage.
The interior of the novelty is similar to latest 3 and 4-seres. It includes leather and metallic trim, some necessary technical features inside such as separate temperature knobs for passengers and a driver. The total interior of the new 4-series Gran coupe looks pretty expensive.
