Hyundai mulling Genesis-based full-size crossover

A fresh report finds David Zuchowski, Hyundai's North American CEO, is pushing for the start of a premium fullsize cross over.
Placed a notch above the Santa Fe, the yet-unnamed soft-roader will ride to a single rear-wheel-drive system as the Genesis sedan (pictured). Nothing is set-in-stone however, but a Hyundai executive advised Australian web site Motoring the crossover will preferably take the type of a seven-seater design which will be somewhat larger in all ways as opposed to Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Genesis cross over is going to be built to accept properly-recognized German versions including the Audi Q-7, the BMW X-5 along with the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz GLEClass. Its foundation cost will lie-in the area of $40,000, making it a lot more more costly than the Santa Fe but a few thousand dollars less than its German competitors. Hyundai hasn't disclosed when it is going to determine whether to construct the Genesis-centered cross over, but insiders suggest the version stands an excellent potential for having the proverbial green-light for manufacturing.
"Finally Zuchowski must reply to the Koreans, however he gets the the dimension of marketplace where he could speak it up - and if he needs a high-end SUV using a Genesis badge onto it, it is likely he will get one," described Bill Thomas, Hyundai's Public-Relations General Manager. If accepted for creation, Hyundai's range-topping cross over are at least 2 or three years from reaching showrooms.
