Lamborghini has blown off the notion of offering a more affordable entry level version in the immediate future.
Discussing to Vehicle and Driver, manufacturer chief Stephan Winkelmann stated the business isn't now about to enter the sub-$200,000 range with a new version that would slot below the Huracan, although he didn't entirely rule out a more economical version down the route."I realized one point in the auto industry to say 'never-say never,' and and it is clear the little section is quite competitive," the exec said. "When we discuss derivatives in the versions then there may be, here and there, some chances. But essentially, we are not intending to do a new auto with this degree."The remarks follow several new entry level versions unveiled by competing McLaren, like the $184,900 570S and an even more economical version, the 540C, that could be marketed for as little as $160,000 if it makes its way to the US marketplace. Ferrari can also be rumored to be focusing on a budget version, possibly known as the Dino, having a cost tag around $180,000. Lamborghini previously provided a sub-$200,000 version, the retired Gallardo, but the $237,000 Huracan is now the budget providing. On the other hand, the Aventador brings in around $400,000.
