Lexus details LC 500's sporty hybrid drivetrain

TOKYO -- Lexus is updating its hybrid vehicle drivetrain line using a new-era program which adds a-4-speed automatic transmission and semi-manual-shifting for a sportier sense.
The newest technology, which the high-end brand calls the Multi Phase Hybrid Method, will debut in the Lexus LC 500h hybrid sports coupe to be revealed in the Geneva auto-show the following month month.
The LC 500 was revealed in the Detroit show last month as the manufacturer main coupe. The hybrid variant which is revealed in Geneva matches the gasoline-engine to an electric-motor and lithium-ion battery, like preceding hybrid vehicles in the business name's hybrid vehicle-heavy line.
But it provides a-4-speed automatic gear box, which Lexus claims will more closely align the motor RPMs using the driver's input signal.
The hotlinking shoves the vehicle from 0-100 kph (62mph) in less than five seconds, the organization said in a news release today. The motor provides 354 hp. Read Source
