Lotus plans to launch a sedan and SUV

Even in 2010, at the auto show in Paris, the official representative of the Lotus brand said about the future introduction of six different concept cars, which would be built during next five years. Unfortunately, those plans could not become true.
Later, the carmaker was sold to the Malaysian conglomerate DRB-Hicom. The new chief also reported about new models, but in that case only about two ones.
The future concept cars have been already noticed. For example, the SUV concept looks similar to the model, which was presented at the Geneva auto show in 2006, while the future sedan looks like the Eterne sedan introduced in Paris four years ago.
The main reason of the sports cars manufacturer to start production not only sports vehicles is to attract more attention of the Lotus brand’s fans. Like it was done by Porsche. Experts are sure; SUVs and sedans under the Lotus brand find their own potential customers in the Chinese auto market, for instance.
Certainly, while the carmaker is working on development and building of new models, they do not plan to break updating of existed models, which might be presented in the U.S. also.
