U.S. electric car motorists have accessibility to an extra 120 DC electrical rapid-charging stations nation-wide thanks to a partnership between BMW and Nissan.
The chargers have been in 19 states, including California, Florida, Ny and Ohio.
The car companies said today in a press release the stations come equipped with CHAdeMO and CCS (Mix) chargers, which may be used on any electric-vehicle built with quick-charge interfaces. Electric vehicles could be charged-up to 80-percent within half an hour in the stations, the firms said.
"Jointly with Nissan, we're focused on easing longer space journey to ensure even more motorists will decide to see to ease of e-freedom for themselves," said Cliff Fietzek, BMW of North America's Related eMobility supervisor, in a statement.
The combined endeavor is portion of a promotion strategy for 2 of the businesses' electrical automobiles -- the BMW I 3 as well as the Nissan Leaf -- throughout annually where demand for EVs and hybrid vehicles has dampened.
Sales of the Leaf electrical subcompact, the best selling electric-car worldwide, have fell 41% to 15,922 automobiles through November this year, compared with the same interval in 2014.
BMW is in a position to buck the trend this year using the I 3, which debuted in 2013. It's offered 9,602 of the electrical subcompact vehicles through November this yr, an increase of 8 9% compared with the same span last year.
Motorists of the i3 can use its in-car navigation method or the BMW i Remote program to find the newest hargers, while Nissan motorists may use the automaker's EZCharge smart-phone program.
