Something new about the Mercedes E-class, which comes as the 2017 model
In spite of the present E-class was launched in 2010, that model is still quite popular and sold thousands vehicles. Currently, the auto manufacturer is working on developed of the next generation of the E-class that is expected to come on the auto market as a car of 2017 model year.
The future novelty is based on the new brand’s platform MRA, which has been already used in the newest C-class as well. Due to using this modular platform, the weight of the latest C-class has been reduced by 220 pounds. However, the vehicle is still rigid and available with alternative powertrains.
The newest E-Class is planned to be equipped with the nine-speed automatic gearbox.
The powertrain may be three-cylinder, four-cylinder and also straight-six engines as well.
Moreover, the new E-class will be also offered in the AMG version. The E63 AMG will be equipped with the 4.0-liter V8 twin turbocharged engine, borrowed from sports cars such as GT and C63 as well.
Most likely, the next generation of the E-class will be available in some body styles: a sedan, a long-wheelbase sedan oriented on the Chinese potential customers, a wagon variant and certainly, a convertible version.
Both exterior and interior are similar to the latest S-class.
The official debut of the E-class is expected in 2016 and as we have already said, the car will be offered as the 2017 model.
