Subaru working on next-gen BRZ, will cap sales to preserve niche appeal
Subaru is really focusing on a next generation BRZ with associate Toyota. This advice was verified by Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, president of Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru's parent organization.
Despite narratives saying that BRZ (and Toyota 86 and Scion fr s) sales quantities are excessively little to justify investment in versions, it looks like the version will carry on for another era, Yoshinaga disclosed in a interview with Automototive information. The truth is, only this week the concept of an electrical turbocharger was floated by STI head Yoshio Hirakawa.
Yoshinaga additionally said that the plug-in hybrid is prepared for launch in 2018, constructed to meet markets with stringent emissions regulations. The automobile isn't anticipated to promote in Japan.
The truth is, restricting sales is some thing Yoshinaga states Subaru may have to do across-the-board. The auto-maker meteoric rise in sales continues to be the fairy tale narrative of the automotive industry, but Yoshinaga needs to limit sales at 1million annually. US sales are predicted to reach 600,000 this year, up from 513,693 in 2014, which will mark the seventh straight year of record increase.
Putting a limit on on sales will maintain Subaru's "market appeal," states Yoshinaga, and only at that point no new factories are in the pipeline. "Several businesses strive to be larger or promote more automobiles. If Subaru does the same task, we are going to lose our features," Yoshinaga told Automotive information.
