The BMW 1-Series will be front-wheel-drive

The auto manufacturer announced its plans to produce the 1-series cars that get front-wheel-drive. The launching is expected to start in 4 years; exactly in 2017. There will be a provisional model line that is named “New entry-level sedan”.
These models will be considered as the model of 2018. That year new BMWs will be presented in the U.S.A., where probably the carmaker plans to carry out its production.
Then the BMW Company is going to renew its 2-series models.
The auto manufacturer decided to be out of the segment of luxury sedans, which are launched by the main BMW’s rivals such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. The BMW Company works at the development low-priced cars.
According to the automaker, compact cars with front-wheel drive will be available with different types of powertrain: three-cylinder, four-cylinder, hybrid engines and anything more.
Based on the Concept active Tourer platform, the first version of 1-Series will have a badge of Gran Turismo.
There will be the BMW vehicles, which will give its own platform for using in the third generation of MINI vehicles.
