The Latest on Amtrak Crash: Amtrak CEO Apologizes for Wreck

Amtrak's best official claims the railway line takes complete responsibility for the fatal derailment in Philadelphia and apologizes for its part in the disaster.
President and CEO Joseph Boardman made the remarks Thursday on Amtrak's official site. He claims the entire Amtrak family gives its sympathies and prayers to the families as well as the communities that have been impacted by Tuesday's crash.
He states Amtrak is operating with travellers and impacted workers to assist them with transportation, accommodation, medical bills and funeral costs.
Boardman states Amtrak can also be centered on the support disruption along the North-East Corridor.
And he vows the railway system will study in the crash and the best way to prevent the same disaster from occurring again. He claims the security of passengers and workers is Amtrak's No. 1 concern.

An Amtrak dispatcher hurt in the fatal derailment in Philadelphia has submitted what is seemingly the initial suit coming from it.
A attorney says town resident Bruce Phillips is still being handled in a hospital to get a concussion, brain injury and spinal injuries following Tuesday's crash.
Attorney Bob Myers claims Phillips was in the last of the train's seven automobiles on his way to work on a Nyc dispatch centre. The train sped into a curve and tumbled in the tracks.
National researchers say as the train approached the curve it hastened to 106 miles per hour, more than twice the speed-limit.
Myers states Amtrak would be to attribute irrespective of if the derailment resulted from operator actions or mechanical failure. The national suit seeks damages over $150,000.
A spokeswoman claims Amtrak does not discuss pending litigation.

The lead investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board states the Amtrak train increased for the full minute before it derailed in a sudden bend.
Board member Robert Sumwalt states a cam mounted on the very front of the train displays it was going 70 miles per hour 65 seconds ahead of the video went dim.
By 16 seconds prior to the crash, the train had grown to 100 miles per hour, shortly reaching 106 miles per hour right before entering a-50 miles per hour section.
Investigators continue to be uncertain why the train was accelerating.
Sumwalt states review records reveal no anomalies using the track, signs or educate it self. It'd left Philadelphia's 30th Avenue Station by the due date.

The Italian authorities has affirmed that among its own citizens, businessman Giuseppe Piras, also perished in the Amtrak crash.
Piras is the last of the eight casualties to be recognized in the Philadelphia crash that also injured over 200 200.
Italian authorities say he was in in America for function. Italian media report that Piras was from Sardinia and worked in the wine as well as olive oil company.
The the others killed are a Maryland businessman; an Connected Press computer software engineer; a New York City industrial real estate specialist; a midshipman in the U.S. Naval Academy; a Wells Fargo executive; a school administrator; and the Chief Executive Officer of an informative startup.

A spokesman for the household of a Nyc girl says she was among the eight people killed in Tuesday's fatal Amtrak crash in Philadelphia.
