The Valeo Company has presented a new electric turbocharger

We have known that the Valeo Company had developed the new electric turbocharger, which were able to eliminate turbo lags as well.
The important feature of the new turbocharger is that it is not powered by the exhaust gases as it does the previous turbocharger, but it is powered by the electric motor.
Without acceleration, the impeller of the turbocharger normally spins at 10,000 rpm. Owing to it, there is no or minimal lag.
Unfortunately, there are two main disadvantages –a price and the power consumption. The electronic turbocharger needs an additional 49-volt power, and it means there will be more electronics under the hood.
In spite of that, many auto manufacturers are interested in it. Audi may be the first carmaker uses that electric device. The automaker has tested it on the Colorado’s Pikes Peak.
