The latest Acura ILX is presented at the show in LA
Acura made decision to renew the compact sedan ILX, which first was presented at the auto show in Detroit two years ago. The new Acura ILX is based on the Honda Civic and Acura. The carmaker hopes to attract younger potential customers.
The carmaker introduced the novelty at the Los Angeles auto show this week, and the new ILX is expecting to come on the auto market as a car of 2016 model year.
According to the automaker, the novelty gets updating in a powertrain, interior and styling.
The main changing is the new powertrain. The new Acura ILX is equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which is able to produce the output of 201 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of the torque. The more powerful unit is as an addition one to the current 2.0-liter engine.
Moreover, the novelty is equipped with the new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with the torque converter to make shifting as smooth as the present automatic transmission.
In addition, the exterior of the novelty currently has the LED headlights, some stylish features on both bumpers. Besides, the carmaker offers new bigger wheels including the standard 17-inch ones.
