The latest Audi Q7 comes as a 2016 model
It is quite hard to believe, but the first Q7 came on sale in 2007. The luxury model has become one of the popular SUVs in the world. Finally, the carmaker has prepared the second generation of the Q7, which is introduced at the auto show in Detroit this year.
The first and noticeable design tweak is the new sporty wagon look of the novelty. There is a new massive three-dimensioned grille and a lightly tapered roofline at the front side.
Inside, the novelty has gotten more improved brand’s features, which became standard, the new touch interface MMI with the new larger screen that is a replacement for the typical gauges in a cluster as well.
Moreover, the novelty is based on a new platform, which has become lighter by 700 pounds. In addition, the second generation of the Q7 has become narrower and shorter than the previous version; however, the headroom is increased. There are still three seating rows inside.
The second generation of the Q7 is offered with three versions of the powertrain. The basic variant is equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing the output of 252 horsepower. The next one gets the 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine, which is able to produce the output of 333 horsepower and the diesel powertrain –the 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel unit, issuing the output of 272 horsepower. Non-depending on a powertrain, there is the eight-speed automatic gearbox. The brand’s all-wheel-drive Quattro system is standard.
Moreover, the novelty will be also available in a plug-in hybrid variant.
Besides, the powertrains, the Q7 is equipped with safety and technical features such as the Bang and Olufsen audio system with 23 speakers as well as the Appla CarPlay and Android Auto softs.
It is too early to announce pricing but we will get them, as soon as the carmaker brings the novelty on the auto market that is expected to happen this spring.
