The newest BMW 3-series
As you may know the present version of the BMW 3-series was produced in 2012, thus, the novelty, which is expected to be introduced as the car of 2016 model year, will get updates in the middle of cycle.
We have seen a prototype of the updated novelty, which will be offered in the M Sport pack as well.
Because of the model is upgraded in its middle cycle, changes will not be significant. The exterior will get redesigned lightening and a bumper in front; the interior will be updated with the new infotainment system. Moreover, not only a sedan will get updates for the 2016 model year but also a wagon version in the Sports pack, which gets similar changes.
Certainly, it has not been confirmed information, but most likely, the 2016 3-series will be equipped with the new four-cylinder and six-cylinder powertrains. In addition, the novelty may be equipped with also the three-cylinder B38 engine as well. Some powertrains will be able to have the turbocharged technology.
Besides new powertrains, the common 335i and 328i will be replaced by 330i and 340i.
Meanwhile, the auto manufacturer is planning to present a plug-in hybrid variant, which will consist of the four-cylinder engine and the electric motor. The total powertrain will be able to produce the output of 245 horsepower and the torque of 295 lb-ft. Soon after, there will be the 328d –a version equipped with the diesel engine.
The powertrains will work with six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic gearboxes.
